Encapsulated CD4 lymphocytes for the possible management of HIV/AIDS:
Based on the likely high affinity and specificity of CD4 -HIV virus interaction, I.V. administered semi-permeable encapsulated CD4 lymphocytes may be able to attract circulating HIV virus into the capsule and thereby effectively remove/reduce the virus from the blood of carrier patients.
Nanotechnology and biotechnology may look into this.
