Welcome to PharmTech’s INTERPHEX Blog
INTERPHEX for our industry is like the Academy Awards to the movie business or the Detroit Car Show to the automotive industry. It’s an event that manufacturers and industry experts plan for all year. We at Pharmaceutical Technology are no different. We produce a special issue that includes a foretaste of the exhibitions and conferences one can expect to see, and we do a wrap-up both in print and online following the conference.
But those reviews cannot possibly capture the sensation of being at the event itself—no more than reading the list of Oscar winners the day after is the same as actually standing on the red carpet. So we are going to try to report from INTERPHEX and give you a sense of what we are hearing and seeing.
We, the PharmTech editors will be blogging live from the exhibit floor at INTERPHEX. We will post what we’re hearing in the conference sessions and what we’re seeing in the exhibit hall. And we’re fortunate enough to have conference director RJ Palermo weighing in with his thoughts and observations on our blog.
As hard as we try, however, we cannot possibly cover everything going on. So we’d like to enlist your help. We’d like you to feel free to comment to our blog posts, certainly. But we’d like to take things a bit further than that. We’d like to ask you to write up your own impressions, your observations, and your opinions about what you’re seeing and hearing at INTERPHEX for us to post. We’d like you to help us—and more important, your colleagues—spot novel technologies and trends. Tell us when you see important improvements on existing technologies. (Please email us your entries at: interphexblog@pharmtech.com.)
Ultimately, we’d like you to help us paint the most complete picture we can of what’s going on at INTERPHEX. For those who can’t attend, and even for those who can, but who can’t see everything, please join us in this experiment in public journalism. We are all eager to read about your experience in Philly this year.
Awesome!!
It is a thrill to see the blog activity form INTERFEX2008! The list of presentors and exhibitors does read like a “Who’s Who” of the Biopharma world. Burns Engineering is excited to be part of the swirl.
There is a P.I.A. agent roaming the Exhibit floor. (visit: BEblog at: http://www.burnsengineering.com/BEblog/
He doesn’t represent any of the classic Standards setting or regulating organizations. His goal is to create interaction and conversation on the various challenges and issues that the Pharma industry deals with day to day. It’s Burns’ objective to engage in creative solutions from a temperature measurement point of view to assist in the success of others dealing with these challenges.
From the Interphex web site I noticed this statement:
“…accelerating regulated products for patient care globally.”
It is a profound opportunity to see so many organizations concerned about caring for others on a global scale.
Thanks for the commitment.

This is a great idea. I will definitely be back to see write-ups on the latest and greatest technologies.
